In each One Thing I've Learned post, I'll post (duh) something I've learned. I'm heading into my mid-sixties now, which probably counts as ancient compared to many of you. My first career was a programmer/analyst for a bank (I used COBOL 🦕). I was around for the early days of the World Wide Web, and have been blogging since before the term existed.

I also created one of the first online communities of writers, before the days of social media.

I created this blog because I'm curious about pckt.blog, and I have found that the best way of learning anything new is to just try it out. I've also decided to take advantage of the Summer Pass partnership with Bluesky because as an extra way of showing my support while also testing out pckt as a possible micro-blogging platform, in addition to my blogs on Leaflet.
