Take regular breaks from the keyboard.
Applies just as much to illustrators as well as writers, of course!

Don't be like me. Decades ago, I powered through a some repetitive tasks; I was sorting photos into a new app. My arm was a bit sore by the end of the day but I didn't think much of it. Instead of taking it easy or shifting my habits to incorporate more breaks away from the keyboard, I kept going.
Result: major pain when trying to type. I couldn't hold a glass of water or cut my own food without pain. Fast forward through several physiotherapists, ups and downs, gradual improvement. I recently aggravated my tendinitis when packing for a move (and didn't take enough breaks!), and am back to relying on voice-activated dictation. Things are gradually improving again, but I figured it's a good time to remind you all of the importance of taking breaks away from the keyboard....so you don't end up like me. 😁
I use LookAway as my app to remind me to not just take short breaks, but also to look away from the screen and blink.
